In the classic Aesop fable - goes the story of the farmer whose goose begins to lay golden eggs every morning. As this continues, the farmer grows impatient and kills to goose in hope of finding a reservoir of gold. Unfortuanately the goose is normal inside and the farmer’s greed has ended his hope of riches.
In the book, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, author Stephen Covey describes the goose and the golden egg as a P/PC balance. P stands for the production - the golden egg. PC is the production capacity - the goose.
His lesson is you must learn to nurture that which enables the capacity of producing to ensure the it will continue to produce.
Take time for your goose and you will always have golden eggs.
